ahhh, halloween. that time of year i usually dread, mainly because i never have the time or the money to invest in a decent costume, especially for one mere night of the whole year. i mean, who has costume parties anymore, except at halloween? precisely. anyway, this year i decided i'd make a wee bit more effort. i spent forever trying to think of something at least a little bit original but i was stumped. and then it came! the wondrous Bettie! i'm not sure if i've fully expressed my pure adoration for Bettie Page, she is the sexiest most seductive woman to have ever graced this earth, hands down. i can't remember where i found this quote, or exactly who said it, but it's so true that none of the following would've existed without Bettie:

it was an obvious choice, then. i could look at photos of her all day, she is a magnificent human being. i'll post photos of the costume if all goes well, 'cause it could go so so wrong. otherwise, enjoy some more Bettie! :)

ahh, daisy lowe. normally, if she was anyone else, i'd put her into the same bracket as the talentless void pixie geldof. maybe alice dellal too, definitely jaime winstone and always peaches. but i dunno, daisy's different. she has the voluptously sensual air about her. she was the perfect choice for agent provocateur. her personal style is pretty fucking awesome at times too. but really, if i could look like any one person on this whole earth, it would absolutely be daisy. she epitomises pure sex. i love you daisy, but please stay away from peaches & pixie.

i remember seeing this photo on The Sartorialist a while back and thinking, wow, who is this girl? i'm unsure whether it was the kooky glasses or that effortlessly crisp white tee that had me hooked, but a few weeks later i found out a bit more about her. she's some kind of russian it girl? yeah, no idea, but she's got an impeccable wardrobe. examine:


sartorial perfection, i cannot lie. it also helps, i suppose, that she's knock out gorgeous as well. i need more photos! apparently, she's the editor of russia's harpers bazaar, but that's a vvv weak source. still, it's nice to have someone offering an alternative to erin wasson and her ripped denim cut offs and white vest combo.

okay, clearly photobucket and/or blogspot hates my guts, considering that collage up there was supposed to be 600x2500 px and not like, 100x100. i'm deeply saddened. this collection has blown my mind to the extent that it blew all other collections (i'm looking at you, YSL & Chanel) out the water. 'Plato's Atlantis' could not have been a more apt title. the sheer intricacy of the prints is out of this world. i want every single piece, including ALL those bad ass shoes. i'm not going to even bother reviewing any of the others, most of them were an absolute snoozefest. thanks for saving fashion week, Alexander McQueen.
