ahh, everyone remembers this show, right? jean paul gaultier throws two fingers up to the fashion industry by hiring Crystal Renn, a 'plus-size' model in order to show his support behind the campaign against wire-thin models. it started a trend too, Mark Fast adopted a similar stance by hiring not one but several 'plus-size' models in his most recent show. i say plus-size, these girls are a size 12, definitely not plus size and not even close to what one would describe as overweight or obese, just not starving themselves in the name of fashion.
Crystal Renn, however, is a size 16 and I love her for this. she's fucking beautiful, yet deemed de mode because of her enviable curves. but like with everything else, fashion develops and changes like the wind, and so many have decided to jump on the 'plus-size' bandwagon. as much as i reckon this is just a passing fad, this new-found fascination with these curvy girls can only be a good thing. okay, so maybe i'm a little bias seeing as i'm a size 12 myself, but i don't see the harm in embracing your figure instead of starving your body to look like a pre-pubescent 12 year-old boy. Gemma Ward, probably one of my most favourite models, recently quit modelling because she was sick of people passing judgement 'cause she gained a few pounds. that's devasting! i fucking love Gemma Ward, in all shapes and forms. how could you ever want to be rake-thin when you could look like this pre-raphaelite beauty?!
this new shoot for V with Terry Richardson is out of this world. i could stare at Crystal for hours, she has the most amazingly beautiful face and this sexy, voluptuous figure i would die for. no offence meant to Jacquelyn Jablonski, but so many more guys would pick Crystal over her a million times over. she exudes pure sex and her allure is unquestionable. Crystal Renn, can we just get married right now? here, take a look at these and tell me that she's not sexy as hell.
